Carinthia seen from above! At a height of 100 meters, it is the tallest wooden observation tower in the world and offers a breathtaking view of Carinthia. Visitors can see Europe’s tallest slide in a closed building with a length of 120 meters, a flying fox over 100 meters and a children’s playground.

Literature Days
Commemorating Ingeborg Bachmann, the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize was established by the city in 1976 and awarded for the first time in 1977. Since then, it has been considerd as one of the most important literary awards for German-language contemporary literature and transforms the city on Lake Wörthersee into a hotspot in this field during the annual reading competition at the ORF Theater.

The United World Games are Europe’s largest youth sports event. Each year in Klagenfurt over 10,000 athletes from more than 40 nations and all continents compete in fifteen disciplines for precious metal. In addition to the sporting competition, special significance is given to the idea of unifying people, which is promoted at various side events.
